First in my life, I went to experience Universal Studios Horror Nights last week. I should say it was a blast.
I am not sure why but I have always been a fan of horror. Why do people like being scared so much and go pay money for some people to scare you?
I thought of that a lot.
We went there as Lydia Leeds and Beetlejuice with my friend. First of all, we got so much love and attention it added up to our experience. We both weren’t expecting people cheering at us, wanting to take pictures with us all night long as if we were celebrities. That definitely made our costumes and tickets worth it. It really amused us a lot.
We entered to a new, dark world. First we saw a late night show with Chucky. That creepy toy was my nightmares when I was a kid but I still liked it very much.
Afterwards we went through numerous horror mazes. There is a lot of actors in scary costumes, make up and chainsaws in their hands make you jump coming out of nowhere. Some of the best ones were Insidius and Texas Massacre Chainsaw in this one. Weekend was different with music and cool too. After a while mazes become a bit repetitive but they are still fun to go through.
Then we did a Blumhouse tour with a tram and saw Megan and some other horror characters out of their movies.
Simulations of Simpsons and Harry Potter gave me a bit of motion sickness but it’s amazing how it feels like a roller coaster when it’s in fact nothing but a really well made simulation.
I enjoyed the experience very much. I think being scared and coming over those fears makes us stronger and braver. Life is full of scares as well. The more horror movies we watch and go through such experiences makes us more resilient and strong in real life I believe.
I recommend some horror especially while we are still in October a few days ahead of Halloween where everyone is going to dress up and go out for trick or treating. I mean maybe not everyone but a good chunk of people here in the USA. Enjoy horror and scares, be braver & stronger!
